Five questions to ask a contractor before signing a contract:
1. How long have you been in business and what is your warranty?
2. Can we have a list of other local jobs and customers you’ve worked with and may we call these customers?
3. If we contract for a complete exterior makeover, will we get to see an architectural rendering of what our home will look like when the project is completed before we sign any contract to start the work?
4. Do you offer comprehensive design services that help us choose architectural details like window styles, trim, siding types, color and other elements that are appropriate for our home’s appearance and our budget?
5. Will you provide firm prices, a firm schedule for the work, and 24/7 access to a construction superintendent while the work is ongoing?
