Elburn Exterior Makeover
![]() |
This spacious home on a large rural lot was always elegant. The owners were aware, however, of the potential problems hiding under the synthetic stucco exterior. Motivated by the risk of mold, they took the opportunity to update the look.
- Fiber cement clapboard siding was installed and accented with vertical fiber cement siding and trim boards in a contrasting color.
- A rich stone element details the front elevation and two story covered entry.
- Glass block windows were replaced with operating casements.
- New garage doors with a row of arched windows that mirror the house windows were installed.
- Custom composite shutters with arched tops were added to match the windows.
The Elevations design team created a country manor complete with arch top shutters and a massive stone entryway. The addition of color and texture through the use of horizontal and vertical siding, along with natural stone, completed the casual but elegant look.
